With fifty woodcuts by John Bewick, younger brother of Thomas Bewick, which are of course moralizing but also humorous, as to be relatable to the intended, youthful audience. Trusler states in the preface that Bewick’s woodcuts “knew how to illustrate the follies and vices of man better than most men.”
